Intel sucks

These dual/logical/hyperthreaded CPUs are too confusing, at least under Linux.

Linux reports them as different CPUs.

Is it supposed to be SMP ? I.e. Does it require a SMP kernel?

Are applications actually making use of this?

I have a Intel® Xeon™ CPU 3.00GHz machine here with:

[hendry@airbus ~]$ cat /proc/cpuinfo | grep MHz
cpu MHz : 2801.692
cpu MHz : 2801.692

Eh?

AMD Opterons are better.
