Looking at Nokia’s XHTML Guidelines on page 61:

As of 2002, most Nokia phones supporting XHTML MP have a 2800 byte limit per document.

Part of my job is to make sure our pages render on mobiles. With one of my 6347 byte project templates am I supposed to carve it into three pages? What about a list of the project groups, weighing in at over 8400 bytes.

For those wondering what a byte is, it is generally one character. So the letter a would be encoded in a single byte. Same goes for whitespace. Whole elements however can be compressed down to one byte too.

The body of this post is now 1000 bytes. Eeek.
