Static maps for Mobiles

I’m been wishing for this awhile and Google have finally done it.

So I saved the URL http://nonjslocalsearch.appspot.com on my mobile device too, so when I bookmark places on my desktop I can easily refer to them on my mobile. Web applications without JavaScript are great for mobiles!

Hi there

I thought you might be interested in Spacemark – it allows you to grab an address/postcode from any website and then save it to a list of saved places – known as Spacemarks. You can then retrieve and review your Spacemarks on your mobile (and on the Spacemark website too if you wish).

As Spacemark has an open API at the back end, other organisations can save a Spacemark for you e.g. by calling 118xxx and similalry you can access Spacemarks from other clients e.g. your satnav system. It’s also easy to save places between friends.

If you have a moment, please register at www.spacemark.com – and then use the ‘tools’ tab to download a bookmarklet for capturing places – and use the ‘mobile’ tab to get a link on your phone.

Hope you like it.
